Ralph was raised in Colorado. He spent 25 years in the Army and retired in 2006. His artwork is inspired by the nature around him. He started many years ago by painting animals on rocks and developed a method for painting with acrylic paint on natural leaves. Much of his art comes from his love for animals as well as his travels through life.
